Help for Oily Skin - Part 2

I have been already talking about the importance of hygiene and peeling of the oily skin at my previous post here. Today I would like to give you some more insight into 2 other daily rituals which should be on your list. These are:

Moisturising

Figuratively speaking, and very simply, oily skin produces too much fat and not water so also it needs moisture, but a moisturising cream should not superfat the skin, so it is important to choose the most light cosmetic. Only pharmacy brand humidifiers are suitable for mixed and oily skin -are those with a note “light” or “legere”. We rather avoid riche formulations.

My favorite are La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Legere and Avene Hydrance Optimale. Super light, almost watery texture, a pleasant smell and a special vacuum packaging without air, so that the cream is not stuffed with preservatives.

I recommend using moisturising cream during the day under the make-up or every other day at night when you do not use peeling preparations.

UV protection

Oily skin like any other requires protection from UV radiation, especially that most of the preparations for the care of oily skin sensitise the skin to sun - which can cause irritation and permanent discolouration.

Mineral filters used in sunscreens are highly occlusive and can clog pores. Fortunately they are micronised and combined with chemical filters which are not comedogenic.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Fluid Ultra-Legere 50+ is a new generation filter, where in addition to the filters are only essential oils to facilitate the application and which, after a moment, evaporate, leaving on the skin only filters. The product is of the lightest consistency, only a little bit shiny - because that is the mechanism of action of filters, but in comparison to many other UVA protection, it is one of the best for oily skin. You can easily get rid of shining effect using transparent powder of your choice. It is available in 2 versions: transparent and tinting. The tinting version gives nice natural colour to the skin, which I mostly like in summer season when I do not want to use too much layers on my face and I avoid make-up foundation at this time.

UV protection

Care of the oily and combination skin is not the easiest one but with a little bit of experimenting you will get to know what your skin likes and what it doesn't tolerate. If you mindfully follow the steps of good hygiene, cleansing/exfoliation, moisturising and UV protection, you will get beautiful glowing skin you have always dreamt about.

Please let me know if you wish to get some more details of any of the presented steps.

Wishing you beautiful exploring journey of your skin,

Maggie, beauty and nature lover, mindful of skincare rituals.
