Simple recipes for Yogurt-based face mask

Do you ever check out the back of your face mask, hand cream, skin moisturizer etc. and just stare confused at some strange ingredients and chemicals stated there? Well, you’re not the only one. More and more people are starting to avoid potentially harmful commercial products, and turning to make their own beauty products based on fruits, veggies, yogurt, honey and many other ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen cupboard or you can easily buy at the nearest market. Mother Nature gave us plenty of extremely healthy and beneficial ingredients all around us and it’s up to us to make the most of it.

Probably the most exploited base for homemade beauty products is a plain yogurt. It has an antifungal and antibacterial effect on our skin, which is especially useful in fighting extremely annoying acne. Given that is a fermented dairy product, yogurt consists of lactic acid which helps in removing dead skin thus removing clogs and freeing your skin pores. Now that we’ve introduced some of the most basic benefits of yogurt, let’s see how to make yogurt based masks that will make your skin younger, smoother and healthier.

Honey and Yogurt Mask

This is probably the most simple mask to make, but don’t be fooled, because that doesn’t mean it’s not effective. You just need to mix 2 tablespoons of yogurt with 1 tablespoon of honey and voila! You’ve made a perfect, simple and non-toxic face mask that will make your blemishes and dark spots go away with regular use. Just apply the mixture to your face and neck area and wash it with water after 15 minutes.

The same + oatmeal

This extra ingredient can make this simple and easy-to-make mask even more effective. Oatmeal will act as an amazing exfoliant removing dead skin cells, dirt and sebum from the surface of your skin. You’ll get soft, nourished and young looking skin with only three ingredients that you usually use for breakfast!

Olive oil, Avocado and Yogurt Mask

This mask is recommended for all of you that are having troubles with dry, dehydrated skin. No matter how much you scrub and peel your skin, the flaking will continue and only the people who have this type of skin know how annoying and irritating it is. However, this yogurt based mask with olive oil and avocado can significantly aid your dry skin, mainly by providing necessary moisture and hydration. Olive oil is natural moisturizer and avocado provides healthy fats and oils that help nourishing and hydrating the skin. Also, both of this ingredients are packed with vitamin E. This mask is especially effective and used during winter when cold days and nights dry out our skin.

As for the recipe, you’ll need 1 teaspoon of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and quarter of an avocado. Mix it all to make thick, homogenized paste which you’ll apply on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it away with lukewarm water and you’ll soon start seeing the results.
