Welcome the Spring with Beautiful Skin

After a long and cold winter, spring is finally here and it brought warm weather and sunny days with itself. It's time to put winter boots and warm clothes aside and to jump in lightweight skirts and sandals! Other than reorganizing your wardrobe, the time has come to adjust your skincare regime.

Cheryl Citron, MD, the former president of the New Jersey Dermatology Society states: nothing is worse for skin than a long, cold winter - the low humidity in conjunction with hot air, heat, and less fresh air often can leave your skin looking dull, dry, rough, and even wrinkled and older.

During the cold, dry winter period, your skin needed special care, filled with moisturizing and a lot of hydration. But, as the weather changes to warm and humid, it is quite important that your skin care routine adjusts to the needs your skin has depending on the new weather. Here are some tips that will help you welcome the sunshine with beautiful, glowing skin.

Sun protection

First of all, keep in mind that in spring you will be spending more time outside and you'll be exposed to dangerous sun rays. Get a sun protection factor cream and apply it on your skin whenever you're going to be exposed to the sun. For UV sensitive skin We recommend Heliocare Gel Ultra SPF 90, a product that has a combination of physical and chemical filters, and the exclusive photoprotective technologies. Furthermore, it contains phytosphingosine that has strong anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory benefits and it's suitable for all skin types.  Bioderma's Photoderm MAX Cream is another great option for sun-intolerant and sensitive skin. Its sun protection factor is 50 and it activates the skin's natural defenses, protects from risks of cellular damage and combats premature cutaneous aging. It's something you'll want to have in your backpack when your skin's exposed to extreme sunshine (high mountains, tropics, etc.)

Hydration

In spring, the natural oils in your skin become more balanced, while during the winter you needed to provide your skin with lots of hydration. Given that your skin secretes more oil in the spring, you don't need to exaggerate with the hydrating products. Still, hydration is one of the key steps for achieving beautiful skin. Amongst a number of products for skin hydration, we recommend Avene Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Light Cream which absorbs excess oil for a shine-free finish, and Embryolisse Moisturizing Face Cream with Orange Extract which contains wheat proteins and hyaluronic acid, enriched with soft almond oil, beeswax, and vitamins. For soft and gentle hands we advise you to try Dr. Hauschka Hydrating Hand Cream.

Cleanse

During the winter often exfoliation may lead to stripping moisture from your skin, making it even drier. But, during spring it's desirable to exfoliate your skin a few times a week. This will help your skin get rid of the dead skin cells and look soft and radiant.

Drink water

Water is an essential factor for a healthy body and healthy skin. Drink at least 8 cups of water a day to help your skin reduce the toxins.
