Spring time is eagerly welcomed by everyone who enjoys spending time in nature. Long, warm days filled with lots of sunshine are perfect for meeting with friends and going to a picnic in nature. Or just taking a leash and going for a walk in the woods with your furry pet. Whether you own a dog or a cat, you are probably aware that spring may bring some potential dangers with itself. Other than flowers blooming and birds singing, spring season also brings various pests, such as fleas and ticks. All pet owners dread these small annoyances, as they can cause serious problems to their dear animals. In order to protect your cat or dog from these parasites, we bring you some useful bits of advice.
Regular check-ups
After taking a walk in the woods, once you get home you should check your pet’s fur to be sure no ticks have attached to your pet. Check their ears, armpits and as much skin as you can. Grooming may help you inspect their fur for any unwanted visitors.
Don’t use old products
Products that serve as a prevention against fleas and ticks lose effectiveness as time passes. In order to properly protect your pet be sure not to use products that have passed their expiration date.
Use canine products exclusively on dogs
Products are properly labeled for what species they made for. Canine products consist of some ingredients that are toxic to cats. Don’t ignore the label on the product, as it may cause serious reactions to your pet.
Given that mentioned parasites may cause your pet some serious health issues, such as Lime disease, anemia, tapeworms, flea allergy dermatitis, inflammation, fatigue, weakness, etc., we advise you to protect your pet with some of these tested products:
The Scalibor Protector Band provides up to 6 months of protection against ticks that carry Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis, and Ehrlichiosis. Just one collar every six months provides year-round protection.
Scalibor works with the natural oils in your dog's skin to disperse small amounts of the active ingredient, deltamethrin, all over your dog's body. As your dog moves and the band rubs against the coat, the gentle friction releases a small amount of the active ingredient from the surface of the band. Within 2 to 3 weeks of continuous wear, your dog gets proven long-lasting tick protection. All blood-feeding stages of ticks are killed—for up to 6 months of use!
